“There are only two kinds of failure in life: the inability to manage self and ineffectiveness in influencing others”  - Stephen Omojuyigbe

Emotions are 'in-body' neuro-biochemical forces. They are the driving force of the human life. Understanding how our emotions affect and shape our decisions, relationships and capacity for productivity and being able to manage the emotional aspect of our lives is an essential set of skills to have for life and the work place.

Daniel Goleman, who is considered to be the foremost authority on the subject, said this in his book, 'Emotional Intelligence':

“If your emotional abilities aren’t in hand, if you don’t have self-awareness, if you’re not able to manage your distressing emotions, if you can’t have empathy and have effective relationships, then no matter how smart you are, you’re not going to get very far”.

Our ability to deal effectively with our emotions in the workplace is critical to our success as managers and service providers. As the pace of the world increases and our environment makes more and more demands on our cognitive, emotional and physical resources, Emotional Intelligence is increasingly critical as a skill set.

Emotional Intelligence strategies applied indifferent contexts, increases our ability to successfully manage the constant challenges from customers and our business associates.

Through skill building exercises, and group discussion, this one-day course will provide participants with the opportunity to identify their own challenges in maintaining positive environments and collaborative relationships as well as overcoming resistance and negativity. Participants will explore tools, techniques, skills and perceptions to perform their roles and manage their emotions with confidence and positive results.

At Imbevent Consulting, we do EI differently. As a concept, EI is easy to grasp. Having the information doesn't however translate to improved performance. The key to information leading to transformation is locking the information into the nervous system. This is what we do with our Applied Emotional Intelligence course.

The majority of EI programs fail to achieve its purpose because the learning is done in the traditional classroom style which activates the left brain. Participants abandon the concept a few days after and revert to the status quo. We do things differently.

Our Applied Emotional Intelligence Workshops is deeply engaging, focusing on the right side of the brain and using techniques of neural conditioning, participants leave the classroom with much more than a mental understanding of the concept of EI, they leave changed in the depth of their core.
